Claude Moufarège was born in Dakar, Senegal. She lived there for nine years before moving to Beirut, Lebanon, where she grew up and studied. After many stopovers, first prompted by the outbreak of civil war and then by her career as an architect, Claude settled in Paris in 2006.
While in Canada, France, Lebanon or the UK, Claude never abandoned her brushes. She eventually decided in the late nineties to give up architecture to focus on painting. Claude explores different themes in her artwork—portraits, seascapes and cities, walking a thin line between figuration and abstraction.
